Snippet from Book

Anyhow, I asked for a CI Analysis slot.

The company just happened to have a cell, called the "Counterterrorism Analysis Cell." Made up of three or four enlisted types and a senior sergeant.

Their job, to go over all the information coming in on every terrorist, major criminal organization (read: Drug Lord Activity), insurgency, and Army of Liberation in Latin America.

In the Intelligence School at Fort Huachuca, we CI agents had received a basic, introductory class in Intelligence Analysis. For no other reason than to show us what the analysts did.

Here, I spent the first few weeks learning the military side of the art, and in starting to read up and create my own knowledge base on Latin America, its people and its politics.

About This Great Book

Sh*t Magnet is a fast-paced and vivid look into a world that few modern Americans can imagine—the world of a changing America, and a changing U.S. Army in the deadly and dangerous world in the closing decades of the Twentieth Century.

As well, it's a personal story told with enthusiasm and grace.

From A Review

Based on what a trainer called him during his first day working at the Los Angeles Evergency Call Center, Schrader realized the truth in the title phrase—that all his life he had tended to attract trouble. Writing in a brisk, no-nonsense, conversational style, he describes his approach to life as a "go, see, do" adventure, with experiences as author, tanker, soldier, and even spy. A good first-person look at how the U.S. Army evolved over the last quarter of the 20th century.

From The Author

All my life I've been a leader and a teacher. Now, there are two ways to do both, with pain or humor. I chose humor!

Hope you enjoy reading the story of my life as much as I have living it!
