Snippet from Book

When the fog came in from the Sound, it wrapped itself close and made even the trees and houses invisible. Like any hallucination, it could cause problems. Louden skipped the last part of his morning run because the cars and the now and then trucks going God knows where veered too close to things they couldn’t see. Twice, he dove for the shoulder when they came from the other side too close and too fast.

That left him dancing on the seawall, looking straight down at the big rocks. And that was the way he felt with this case. A missing piece of software that blind-linked to a murder in the past that led to an execution that was all about scapegoating and nothing else.

Justice?

No. Stats.

About This Great Book

Say the department has given you an assignment that no one else wants—a break-in at a small software company in the area. Say that a program has been stolen and that the investigation begins to get its own legs pretty quick, peeling back into the violent past about as fast as it moves into the future. Say that it slowly turns into the biggest case anyone has ever seen in the city of Great Reach. Huge sums of money. Characters much bigger than life. Stakes that can go no higher.

Then you can call it The God App.

From A Review

David Chacko's newest mystery novel, The God App, takes place in the the fictional city of Great Reach which is somewhere north of New York City. A world away, in other words. It's been called a separate country—Hedgistan—because of the hedge funds and other financial firms that settled in the county. They usually don't cause anyone trouble except the taxman, and he closes his eyes, too.

From The Author

The first real job I ever had was on Wall Street, working in the back office of a brokerage house. I never got over it. Being at the center of screaming greed and chaos that changes minute by minute is probably as good as it gets for someone who wants to be a writer. You never have to look very far for characters, motivation, or plots after that. I hardly had to look at all when I wrote The God App.

Beggarman, Spy - The biography of Israel Potter created a sensation when it was first published. Potter's tale was so strange and compelling that Herman Melville later made it his own in fiction.
